How do I refer my patients to Practice Plus Group Hospital, Southampton?

There are a number of ways to refer your patients to us. The NHS e-Referral Service ( is our preferred method, but you can refer by post and fax too.

Who can my patients speak to after their treatment?

To help patients recover post-treatment we have a Patient Advice Line. Patients can call us on 02380 712 035 to speak to a member of the clinical team. This helpline is designed to ensure that recovery is as speedy and successful as possible, so please advise your patients to use it as much as they need to.

What are the exclusion criteria?

It’s easy to refer a patient to Practice Plus Group Hospital, Southampton. But before you do so, please check the following points as we will not be able to treat patients who do not meet these criteria.

The patient must:

  • have a Body Mass Index of 40 or less
  • be 16 years old or over
  • have no suspected cancers
  • not have sickle cell anaemia, unstable insulin dependent diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea, uncontrolled hypertension, previous adverse reaction to anaesthesia, renal failure or have had a cardiac arrest in the last six months.
