In order to be referred to us for treatment, the patient must:
- have a Body Mass Index of 40 or less
- be 16 years old or over
- have no suspected cancers
- not have sickle cell anaemia, unstable insulin dependent diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea, uncontrolled hypertension, previous adverse reaction to anaesthesia, renal failure or have had a cardiac arrest in the last six months.
